Your legacy gift becomes a legacy of good that continues to generate value even after you, in support of research into neuromuscular (such as muscular dystrophies), neurodegenerative (such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Muscular Atrophies), cerebrovascular (such as stroke, cerebral hemorrhages, amyloid angiopathies), and other severely disabling neurological diseases affecting people from early childhood through adulthood.

What Is a Legacy Donation?

A legacy donation is an act of generosity that allows you to allocate part of your estate to a Third Sector organization, such as the Association “Centro Dino Ferrari” ETS, through a will or life insurance policy.

How Do You Make a Legacy Donation?

Through a Will

You can choose among different types of wills:

  1. Holographic Will
    • Written by hand by the testator
    • Must be dated, signed, and entirely handwritten
    • Can be kept by the testator or entrusted to someone they trust
    • After death, it must be published by a notary

  2. Public Will
    • Drafted by a notary in the presence of two witnesses
    • The original is kept by the notary (or at the Notarial Archive)

  3. Secret Will
    • May be handwritten by the testator or written by someone else using electronic or mechanical means
    • Delivered sealed to the notary with an official receipt
    • Signed by the testator (at the end if handwritten, or on every page if not)

Note: A will can be changed or revoked at any time.

Through a Life Insurance Policy

Take out a life insurance policy and name the Association “Centro Dino Ferrari” ETS as the beneficiary.
The insured amount does not become part of the estate, so it is not subject to inheritance tax and cannot be claimed by heirs, except in cases where legitimate inheritable shares are affecte

What You Can Leave

You can bequeath assets in different forms:

  • Inheritance: the heir (person or entity) receives the entire estate (or a share), including assets and liabilities

  • Specific Bequest: the beneficiary receives specific items, without responsibility for debts

Specifically, you can leave:

  • Sums of money (general or from a specific account)

  • Financial securities

  • Movable assets (jewelry, art, furniture)

  • Real estate (homes, land)

Tax Benefits

As a Third Sector entity registered with RUNTS, legacy donations to the Association “Centro Dino Ferrari” ETS have the following advantages:

  • Exempt from inheritance and gift taxes

  • No tax obligations for the Association

  • Fully allocated to research

How Your Legacy Will Be Used

Your legacy will support:

  • Scientific research on neuromuscular, neurodegenerative, cerebrovascular, and other severely disabling neurological diseases affecting people from early childhood to adulthood.

  • You can specify in your will if you want the legacy to be directed to a particular research area or pathology
