Neurology Unit

The Neurology Unit of the IRCCS Istituto Auxologico Italiano represents a new, agile, and state-of-the-art facility within the city (established March 2024).

Located on the 2nd floor of a modern facility at Auxologico Mosè Bianchi, the unit offers 10 inpatient beds—which can be increased based on demand—and one bed dedicated to video-polysomnography recordings. Equipped with efficient neurophysiological, neuropsychological, ultrasonographic, and neuroradiological diagnostic tools (including a next-generation 3 Tesla MRI scanner), it provides services through ordinary hospitalization (both under the National Health Service – SSN and privately or via insurance coverage), outpatient clinics, Day Hospital (DH), and MAC for various neurodegenerative and neuromuscular pathologies. The Unit is equipped for the administration of the most advanced neurological treatments, such as gene therapies and biological drugs.

The Neurology Unit hosts extensive clinical databases and biological sample collections (Biorepository); it is a national reference center for motor neuron diseases and collaborates with leading international research groups.
