Every scientific advancement is born from a journey shaped by commitment, vision, and tangible support. Today, we can share an important milestone: the “Young Researchers” project, promoted by the “Centro Dino Ferrari” of the University of Milan – Policlinico Hospital of Milan, has achieved its goal and has officially become a reality.
Thanks to the support of many people who believed in the value of research, it has been possible to activate a three-year research contract dedicated to a young researcher in the field of neurology.
The grant was awarded to Dr. Federica Rizzo, who will be able to continue her studies with renewed momentum, contributing on the front line to new research projects. Her work will focus in particular on CMT2A (Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2A)—a rare and highly disabling genetic condition—with the aim of exploring new therapeutic strategies.
The scientific work will adopt an interdisciplinary approach, integrating basic research, clinical development, and advanced training, in order to promote the transfer of knowledge from the laboratory to clinical practice. This is an investment in the future, as it strengthens research capable of transforming science into new treatment opportunities.
A special thanks goes to all those who supported the project and, in particular, to those who chose to support the Mitofusin 2 Project, making it possible to launch this important initiative.
