SMARD1: a new generous donation in support of research
Condividi la notizia
The fundraising campaign launched last April by Giulia and Matteo to support research into SMARD1—the disease affecting their young son, Giorgio—has come to a successful close.
Thanks to widespread participation and success, the initiative, which began during the Easter season with the sale of charity bells, continued over the following months. It also took place on June 24th and 25th during the food and wine event “Vicoli di Gusto,” which brings the historic center of Roccavivi to life every year.
The proceeds from both initiatives, totaling €9,719, have been donated entirely to our researchers to support their studies, with the hope of soon reaching new milestones that can help all patients, young and old, who, like Giorgio, are fighting against SMARD1.
We wish to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the creation of the bells and to those who chose to purchase even just one.
Our heartfelt thanks also go to the organizers of “Vicoli di Gusto,” the volunteers, and the Associations that assisted during the event, as well as to Mayor Carlo Rossi, who encouraged citizens to take part in the initiative.
Finally, we thank Rosario Fracasso, who donated all the raw materials for the yogurt sold during the two days; “Il Quarto Re” for providing equipment; and the Roccavivi hunters’ group for their donation.
