Isabella Fogh

Graduated in Biology and with a PhD in Human Genetics at the University of Milan, she has been working since 2003 as a Post Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College of London. Being an expert of genome wide association studies (GWA), she actively contributed to the creation of the Italian SLAGEN Consortium for the collection of a huge cohort of 2000 Italian sporadic ALS patients. Collaborating with the major international groups for the study of genetics of sporadic ALS, she performed the most complete GWA study in ALS by analyzing 15.570 individuals. She is now analyzing the same international cohort to identify modifier genes associated to chromosome X and collaborating with Valentina Moskvina, Cardiff University, on an integrate study of ALS and Alzheimer’s Disease.
