We take care of the following diseases:
- Chronic dysimmune
neuropathies and neuronopathies including chronic inflammatory
demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), multifocal motor
neuropathy (MMN), neuropathies and neuronopathies associated
with monoclonal gammopathy; vasculitic neuropathies; paraneoplastic
neuropathy
and neuronopathy.
- Acute dysimmune neuropathies including Guillain
Barré syndorme
and related variants (Fisher sindrome, etc ).
- Paraneoplastic
syndromes.
On the following patients: admitted or visited
in our Hospital or referred for consultation from other Hospitals.
We also perform tests on serum and CSF sent from other Hospital and
ambulatory patients:
By mean of:
- Ambulatory and Day Hospital for the Diagnosis and Therapy of
Dysimmune Neuropathies (approximately 500 visits and 100 admission
in day-Hospital every year)
- Neurology ward for admitted patients
with above mentioned diseases (over 200 admission in day-Hospital
every year)
- Neuroimmunology Laboratory for antibody testing (over
3000 tests on serum and CSF of the following antibodies: MAG;
gangliosides GM1, GD1a, GD1b, GM2 e GQ1b; sulfatides; neurofilaments;
tubulin;
nerve; central and peripheral myelin; neuron/cerebellum for
paraneoplastic neurologic sindroms).
