Neuroimmunology Laboratory:
Open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM.
We test serum sent or directly drawn
from the patients for antibodies to the following neural antigens:
MAG; gangliosides GM1, asialoGM1, GD1a, GD1b, GM2 e GQ1b; sulfatides;
neurofilaments; tubulin; nerve; central and peripheral myelin;
neuron/cerebellum for paraneoplastic neurologic sindroms. We also
test for serum anti-Campylobacter jejuni antibodies. All test can
be performed through the National Sanitary System.
Appointment taken within three days; Results reported within 10 daysi.

Ambulatory and Day Hospital for the diagnosis and therapy of Dysimmune
Neuropathies:
We see and admit patients by appointment every Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Ve perform: neurological examination, functional and disability evaluation;
auti-neural antibody testing (see above), neurophysiological examinations
(EMG, ENG, Evoked potentials in collaboration with the Neurophysiology Service
directd by prof S. Barbieri. We also run day –hospital from monday
through friday to perform peridiodic therapies (steroids i.v. or IVIg) or
more invasive diagnostic test (spinal tap, nerve and subcutaneous fat biopsies.
All exams and admission in Day-Hospital can be performed through the National
Sanitary System.
Usual waiting list for non-urgent evaluations 30 days (can be reduced if necessary
to 1 week).
